PTAs and Parents would you like to bring our fun, exciting Drama Kids program to your school or oganization?  Call us for details or email us dramakidswmd@juno.com!  Your child will gain great educational benefits from our program.

Drama Kids is a very unique developmental drama program.  All students gain great benefits from our award winning curriculum.  Shy, introverted children soon gain in confidence and are able to express themselves more fluently.  They learn to relax and interact more easily with other people, thus paving the way to a happier, more fulfilling life.  Vivacious extroverts learn the importance of being able to focus their energy and enthusiasm into controlled situations and so produce worthwhile results.  Not only does our curriculum provide a well-rounded theatre arts experience, it also develops and encourages, speech, attentive listening, time management, decision making, leardership, negotiating and compromising skills in a fun environment.

Whether your child is destined for the stage or the board room, Drama Kids can help! We look forward to hearing from you!

Dramatically yours,

Cathy Lipton, Director
Drama Kids of Western Maryland

Welcome Thurgood Marshall to Drama Kids - (2008-09-18)

We are pleased to announce that Thurgood Marshall Elementary School joined our in-school program for 2008-2009 school year.  Initially, we were only to teach 15 weeks, but the parents and students loved the program so much, we returned to complete the school year.  We look forward to their Spring Performance!

Real Stories from Montgomery County - West

Parents

I wanted to send you a note to thank you for all you are doing for the drama class.  Kelly LOVES the class and I definitely see how it has improved her communication skills.  Kelly's brother is an eighth grader who is in need of improvement with his communication skills.  He likes to mumble instead of projecting his voice.  He also lacks self confidence.  After seeing what it has done for Kelly, I know enrolling her brother will be of great help.

My son, Steve, has been enrolled in DKI Acting Academy since last September. We want you to know that this is the FIRST time Steve has ever stuck with any program (sports or otherwise) for a whole session, much less a whole year.

We credit the teacher for him continuing this program for a year. The teacher's enthusiasm and her ability to work with kids enables her to be an excellent drama teacher/coach. She gives from the heart and shares all of her gifts with the children in her programs. I have been involved in little theatre off and on since high school; I am truly impressed with what the teacher has taught these kids in one year. I am also impressed with the poise and self-esteem that Steve has when he is doing a scene. This is due, in great part, to the teacher. Thank you.

"Many thanks for all that you have done for Samantha.  There are many people who can teach but only a special few who are able to inspire!  Thank you for bringing Samantha out of her shell.  Her grades as well as her social interaction have benefited from your hard work and dedication.  We are truly grateful to have you in her life!"

"Here is the proof that all you put in with these kids really works!  You can see that her speech was quite long and still she was able to get an A+!"

Mrs. Ventola provided us with the teacher's Oral Report Evaluation of Samantha's speech from school.  On a scale of 1-3 with 3 being Superior:  Voice - 3; Posture - 3; Eye contact - 3; Content - 3;  Comments from teacher:  Great Eye Contact! and Nice Volume!

Sincerely,
Janet, Dean and Samantha Ventola, Parents and Student

Thank you!  We could not be happier with your program, and Catie loves it and looks forward to it each and every week at Little Bennett Elementary School.

I have heard good things about your program.  My friend had her kids in your program a couple of years ago and they loved it!  They were thrilled when I mentioned that it was coming to Thurgood Marshall Elementary School.

We have been very happy with the work you have done with the drama class this year.  Both of my daughters have been very excited about the class and look forward to it every week.  So do all the other kids who we know that are also enrolled.  This has been the most successful drama program we've had at Thurgood Marshall.  Thank you so much for bringing such a great class to our school.
