Who's Who at Drama Kids?

Bill Algeo - Director/Teacher

Bill brings a rare combination of skills to Drama Kids.  As an actor, Bill has trained with several professional theater companies including Walnut Street, and People’s Light & Theater Co.  Although most of his acting and directing experience has been with local community theaters, Bill has done some commercials, as well as some professional film and stage work.   In addition to his theater experience, Bill is a graduate of West Chester University who spent many years in the Financial Services industry.  He discovered that his love for acting and improvisation served him well as his career led him into positions requiring extensive public speaking skills and teaching ability.  Being a teacher at heart, Bill left the corporate world and began his teaching career as a Drama teacher with Renaissance Academy.  He discovered a natural ability with kids, and when this opportunity with Drama Kids presented itself… he couldn’t pass it up.

Michela Bird - Teacher

Michela received her BA in Theatre from DeSales University in 2001 where she trained in many forms of acting as well as directing.  Michela has worked professionally at a number of venues including the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire where she discovered her love for improv and character work.  Michela joined a National touring company called the Washing Well Wenches.  This all female comedy improv troupe features improvisation and character work from some of the most talented actresses around the country.  Michela is excited to be bringing her love of the arts and her talent for improvisation to Drama Kids and she looks forward to being a positive role model for your children.

I can't tell how much we appreciate what Drama Kids has done for Kelly. She has always wanted to be on stage, but has been too shy. Yesterday she actually auditioned for her school play... and she got a part! She only has one or two lines, but that doesn't matter.  She is very excited and proud of herself.  She told me that Drama Kids gave her the courage to audition.  Thank you for helping her find her confidence.

Mr Bill... my son came home today and told me that his speech therapist was so excited about how well he was coming along with his speech issues.  She thanked him for all his hard work and told him to keep doing the speech exercises she taught him.  He told her that it wasn't her exercises that were helping him... it was Drama Kids!  He told her about all the articulation and projection activities you have in class and said that Drama Kids makes it FUN!  I had to share this with you to let you know that what you are doing does make a difference.  Thanks.

Dear Mr Bill and Miss Colleen,
I wanted to thank both of you and your entire staff for providing such a warm and inviting environment where my daughter immediately felt comfortable.  Mackenzie said everyone was really nice and that by the end of the first day it felt like she was part of one big, happy family!
I knew that Drama Kids was something special because my daughter started talking non-stop about what a great time she had, from the minute I picked her up, until I she went to sleep.  And she wanted to go to bed early so morning would come sooner, that way she could get back to camp! ( You know you're doing something right if a child wants to go to bed early on a summer night!) By Friday afternoon Mackenzie declared that this is the BEST CAMP EVER!  She wishes it could last all summer. It is so much fun!
Needless to say, she is signed up for the second week and is looking forward to taking the fall classes as well.
Thanks again for providing a supportive, positive and creative learning environment for my daughter to thrive in!
Sincerely,
Kathleen Dove
