We hold classes at two locations for South County:

• Monday classes are held at the Firehouse Cultural Center Annex in Apollo Beach.
• Tuesday classes are held at St. Andrews Church in Brandon.

We hold our tech week and performances at the Firehouse Cultural Center.

With one enrollment, students participate in both the Fall Season (September–December) and the Spring Season (January–May). It’s a complete year of drama skills, musical theatre training and performances.

Yes! Every student who enrolls is guaranteed a role in at least one production. This is true for both fall and spring.

Students must enroll in the Fall Mainstage Musical (Elf Jr.) to join our Take 2 Performance Academy. If interested in auditioning for the Signature Intensive musical, you will indicate on your Getting to Know You Form upon enrollment.

• Fall Mainstage Musical (Elf Jr.) — Open enrollment with two cast options (Rising Stars or Mainstage).
• Signature Intensive Musical (Into the Woods Jr.) — A smaller, audition-based cast with a more intensive rehearsal process.

Rising Stars is designed for newer performers or performers who don’t want as large of a commitment. These students receive ensemble roles and attend a 2-hour class (5:30–7:30 PM). The first hour is spent learning foundational skills and techniques and the second hour is spent rehearsing for the performance.

Mainstage offers named roles and featured ensemble parts with a 3-hour class (5:30–8:30 PM). The first hour is spent on learning important skills and techniques and the remaining 2 hours are spent rehearsing for the performance.

Both perform in the Fall Mainstage Musical, Elf Jr.

The Signature Intensive is an audition-based production of Into the Woods designed for students seeking a more challenging theatrical experience. It features a smaller cast, a more intensive rehearsal schedule, and additional tuition.

Students who are interested in the Signature Intensive should indicate so on their Getting to Know You Form received after enrolling and will be invited to audition for the Intensive. If selected, they will perform in Into the Woods as their fall production. Because students who audition for the Signature Intensive are committing to that production, if cast, acceptance of a role is expected.

Students who are not selected for the Signature Intensive are automatically guaranteed a role in our Fall Mainstage production of Elf. There is no risk in auditioning.

Yes, as long as your family is willing to rehearse one night per week at each location and travel to both our Brandon and Apollo Beach locations.

Students interested in performing in both productions will audition for the Signature Intensive as a whole, rather than for a specific location. If cast, we will place them in the Signature Intensive cast that best fits our overall casting needs. They will then participate in the Fall Mainstage production at the opposite location.

This gives students the opportunity to perform in two productions during the fall while allowing us the flexibility to create the strongest Signature Intensive casts possible.

All students will be performing How to Train Your Dragon Jr. in the spring. The production team places students into Players Cast or Marquee Cast based on age, experience, and readiness. Families can also request Rising Stars if they prefer a lighter commitment.

Both casts perform the same spring musical, How to Train Your Dragon Jr., and every student performs in 4 performances total: 2 headline performances and 2 ensemble performances. The biggest difference is the rehearsal commitment and level of responsibility.

Marquee Cast

• Meets from 5:30–9:00 PM each week.
• Has additional rehearsal time and an additional $200 enrollment fee to cover the additional time.
• Marquee students serve as mentors and leaders for the Players cast throughout the rehearsal process, so they are expected to model preparation, teamwork, and professionalism.
• With this in mind, students are expected to spend more time rehearsing at home. They should come to each rehearsal off book (lines memorized) and with all previously taught music and choreography prepared.

Players Cast

• Meets from 5:30–8:30 PM each week.
• Follows a more guided rehearsal process, with more rehearsal time dedicated to learning lines, music, choreography, and blocking during class.
• While at-home practice is still encouraged, the overall time commitment and leadership expectations are less intensive than those of the Marquee cast.

Yes! Families may select Rising Stars if they prefer a lighter spring commitment. Rising Stars students perform in the ensemble for all four spring performances with a 2-hour class (5:30–7:30 PM).

Fall productions have 2 performances each; spring productions have 4 performances each. Class times are 5:30–7:30 PM (Rising Stars), 5:30–8:30 PM (Mainstage Musical / Players Cast), and 5:30–9:00 PM (Marquee Cast / Signature Intensive). Additional rehearsal time may be needed as performances approach.

• While at-home practice is encouraged, Players students receive more instructional support during rehearsals and have fewer leadership expectations than the Marquee Cast.
