Sam Fore Jr. Wilson County Public Library
Drama Kids Owner Sandy Detamore a.k.a.”Drama Mama”, loves giving back to the community. Sandy volunteered her time to conduct a music and play workshop on March 8th at the Sam Fore Jr. Wilson County Public Library.
The Floresville Library was awarded a Texas State Library and Archives Commission grant to join the national movement of hosting Parent/Child workshops to help family members and caregivers understand that they are every child’s first teacher. One component of the workshop is to invite what we are calling “Resource Specialist” to meet with family members and caregivers in a non-threatening play environment for about an 1 hour to discuss how these selected specialists might be able to help them. Sandy was the “Resource Specialist” for there Music and Play workshop.
Visit http://familyplacelibraries.org/whatMakes.html for more information on how your local library may have a similar workshop near you. Photo was published in the Wilson County News, Wednesday, March 16th, 2016.
