Sam Finger

Owner & Director

My name is Sam Finger, and I’m the Owner and Director of this remarkable and exciting award-winning drama program. I recently graduated from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, Washington, with a BFA in Acting and original works, but I grew up in the magical box canyon of Telluride, climbing mountains and dipping into glacial rivers while also acting and performing in every play, camp, and workshop Telluride provided.

I have dedicated most of my life to acting, playwriting, and creating original works (see bio on the staff page.), but I have always been invested in how theatre can shape, inspire, and mold young people. This unique program is driven by instilling confidence, leadership skills, a positive approach toward life, and the self-esteem needed to go forth into the world with an open heart, strength, aptitude, and imperative life-long skills. Now, more than ever, it’s crucial that children have the growing confidence, social skills, and speaking skills to thrive. All kids deserve to see their inner light shine through!

Drama Kids & DKI Acting Academy students learn to use a well-projected voice to:

Ask questions or volunteer answers
Make new friends
Participate easily in teams or study groups
Discuss and share ideas fluently
Negotiate successfully
Talk to adults with ease
Have confidence to say “no” and stick up for themselves when necessary
