Laura Bevier

Owner & Director

Laura Bevier is the proud owner and director of Drama Kids Metro Detroit West, where her deep corporate experience meets her lifelong passion for youth development and the performing arts. With over 16 years of leadership in Human Resources, Business Development, and Project Management, with most of it spent at the nation’s largest childcare organization, Laura is a seasoned professional who thrives on solving complex challenges and leading meaningful change.

Launching Drama Kids is the perfect intersection of Laura’s personal and professional journeys. It’s a dream come true: an opportunity to empower children with confidence, creativity, and communication skills that will serve them for life. She believes drama education is a powerful catalyst for self-expression and personal growth, and she’s excited to bring this dynamic, developmentally focused program to families across her community—helping young people shine both on stage and beyond. Because the most important role we will ever play is ourselves.

Laura was a college mascot, so she dominates creative expression without words games. She lives in the Northville community with her husband and 2 children.

Sarahfay Hendin

Lead Drama Teacher

Ms. Sarahfay is a passionate and experienced teaching artist who loves helping kids grow in confidence through the magic of drama. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre and Business Administration from Siena Heights University and has worked with children of all ages—from preschoolers to teenagers—in classrooms, summer camps, and national touring productions. Sarahfay has taught with Missoula Children’s Theatre, directed youth plays, and led drama classes that focus on creativity, teamwork, and self-expression. With a kind heart and an energetic teaching style, she creates a fun, welcoming space where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to shine on stage and beyond. She’s thrilled to be part of the Drama Kids team and can’t wait to bring the joy of drama to your child!

Whitney Johnson

Drama Teacher

Whitney is an actor, writer, and producer from Detroit. After earning a PR degree from Morgan State where she was a D1 shooting guard, Theatre Morgan student and performer, she trained with The Scott Acting Conservatory in New York as well as with Roz Coleman, working Off-Broadway, and in Film, TV, and Scripted Audio in addition to developing her own projects. Whitney has experience teaching and mentoring children of all age groups and loves helping young people tap into their creativity.

Becky Readman

Drama Teacher

Becky brings a decade of experience as a dedicated teacher to our drama club. For ten years, she has cherished the incredible journey of watching children’s confidence blossom in her classroom. Becky believes that drama is not just about acting; it’s about having fun, fostering essential empathy skills, sharpening problem-solving abilities, and developing clear, articulate speech. She’s passionate about creating a supportive and exciting environment where every child can shine, grow, and discover their unique voice on and off the stage!  

Jenny Knoll

Drama Teacher

Jenny Knoll is a mother of three who has been a drama teacher for over thirty years. She was in her first commercial (for diapers) at four months old but started her formal training in London, England at the University of Sussex where she majored in theater. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University and also did post-graduate studies in Education at Cleveland State University.

Since then she has performed in and directed plays ranging from British pantomime to Shakespeare, and has worked with children of all ages, from preschoolers to high school students, in four different states -but her favorite age group remains her elementary students!

She has a friendly and approachable manner and has always been extremely passionate about arts education and how important and impactful it can be for every child!

For the past ten years Miss Knoll has worked as a house manager at the Village Theater in Canton, where she is the director of their children’s summer theater intensive program. Miss Knoll plays several musical instruments, and her favorites are piano and percussion!

Noah Askew

Drama Teacher

Noah Askew is an actor and teacher from the Metro Detroit area. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication, Media, and Theatre Arts from Eastern Michigan University. Noah has worked in multiple academic settings, either working on stage or behind the scenes helping students hone in their skills and build up their confidence. With a focus on spreading kindness and positivity in the classroom, Noah is very excited to be teaching students about art and play with Drama Kids!

Alex Martinez

Drama Teacher

Alex Martinez is a Houston, Texas native whose passion for the arts began on stage and has since extended behind the scenes. He studied acting at the University of Oklahoma, where he honed his craft before working professionally as an actor across Texas in theatre, film, and commercials.

Eager to support the arts in new ways, Alex transitioned into arts administration, joining the development team at Houston Ballet. one of the nation’s largest dance companies, where he gained experience in nonprofit fundraising and donor engagement. This blend of performance and administrative work has given him a unique perspective on the power of the arts to connect communities.

Alex is thrilled to be teaching with Drama Kids, where he is excited to share his experience, creativity, and enthusiasm with young performers. He is passionate about helping students grow in confidence, develop their voices, and discover the joy of theatre while furthering Drama Kids’ mission of inspiring and empowering the next generation.

Elaine Cho

Drama Teacher

Elaine graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Interarts Performance, where they focused on art and theatre. With a background in both performance and creative collaboration, Elaine is passionate about fostering students’ artistic expression and building confidence through drama.

Nikoleta Klikovac

Drama Teacher

Nikoleta Klikovac is a stage, screen, and voice actress with experience in stage management, directing, and producing live theatre. Previously, she was the primary education coordinator and artistic director for Acts of Youth educational theatre and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Theatre at Jackson College.  She received her Bachelor’s in Theatre and Psychology from Hillsdale College and her Master’s in Theatre Practice from University College Dublin. Nikoleta has always had a passion for education and for the confidence and life skills that theatre can provide. As someone who was incredibly shy as a child, she understands the fear that can accompany theatre – and especially the freedom that comes from finally trusting yourself. She is ecstatic to serve as a teacher with Drama Kids and to help your children grow in the arts and in life.

Misty Foster

Drama Teacher

Misty Foster attended the University of South Florida, where she earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Theatre Arts and Humanities. She spent years volunteering in local community theatre before beginning her professional career in the Tampa Bay area.
In Florida, Misty has experience working on both the performance side of theatre along with children’s programs and camps.
With over a decade of theatre experience Misty is delighted to have found a new theatre home with Drama Kids and looks forward to sharing her passion and experience with the next generation.
