Sandra Detamore
Owner & Teacher
Hi, my name is Sandra Detamore, but please call me Sandy. I love Drama Kids because we help students realize their creative potential through drama. We’re not aiming to create Broadway stars, but rather, we are more focused on building creative thinking skills, communication skills, confidence, and self-esteem. These skills are vitally important for success later in life and are not currently being taught in the school classroom.
Sandy was honored as being named the 2015 Drama Kids International Owner of the Year. I have been directing drama for over 33 years. In October of 2021, we will be celebrating our 14th year anniversary with Drama Kids International! I was born and raised in San Antonio. I moved to Floresville in 1991 with my husband and son. I have been married to my husband, Tommy, for 38 years.
My son Thomas, now 35 years old, is part of my teaching staff as well as my Assistant Director. Thomas graduated from college with a B.A. in English and a minor in theater. I’m so proud that he is now part of our Drama Kids teaching staff.
My goal is to help children and young adults develop so that whatever career they choose in life, they will be able to use the skills they learned through Drama Kids International to achieve success. I truly feel blessed with this opportunity and am grateful for all the parents who feel that it is important for their children to learn these skills. After all, children are our future.
