Drama & Acting Classes
Our community program brings the Drama Kids award-winning curriculum to your community! DRAMA ISN’T JUST FOR KIDS WHO WANT TO BE ACTORS! Our classes help children and young adults develop important life skills: Public Speaking, Creative Thinking, Collaboration, Problem Solving, Leadership, And More!
FULL-YEAR CURRICULUM OVERVIEW
The Drama Kids curriculum is developmental & progresses throughout the year as follows.
Class 1-9: Basic Acting Skills: acting tools body, voice, & imagination, building trust, collaboration (working together as an ensemble), speaking skills, spatial awareness, and much more.
Class 10-18: Performance Skills: blocking, building characterization, improvisation, reacting, developing expression & stage projection.
Class 19-34: Rehearsals for Spring Performance. This includes 14 classes at the school, 1 dress rehearsal class & 1 performance class at the performance venue.
Although we are not a performance-focused program, during the last module, our students experience the rehearsal process & line memorization techniques.
*Annual Enrollment: Includes 34 classes~ 32 classes at the location, a dress rehearsal class & final spring performance class at the performance
