 Class Offerings

Intro to Theater

Students have different adventures each week such as exploring outer space, making magic potions, and inventing crazy robots! Through different fun drama activities, we hone students’ speech skills, presentation skills, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills. Students learn beginning acting skills and build confidence as a performer. They create their own short scenes and work on a play together to present at the end of the semester.

Musical Theater

In this introductory musical theater class, students will learn the different components of a musical production. They will sing, act, and dance their way to the stage! Some of our past musicals include Annie Jr, Seussical Jr, Honk Jr, Wizard of Oz, and Descendants.

Singing Stars

Have fun singing songs from today’s top pop artists as well as popular Broadway and movie songs. Students learn basic vocal techniques and gain confidence as a performer. They also learn simple dance choreography to accompany their singing for performances. Students have opportunities to select their own songs and create their own choreography as well. There is a semester-end performance.

Playwriting

Students learn how to craft compelling stories and create unforgettable characters that leap off the page. Through fun writing exercises and group activities, they will learn about story arcs and character development to bring their unique ideas to life. Using their imagination and creativity, students will work together in small groups to write their own short plays and present them at the end of the semester.

Public Speaking

Students learn public speaking and presentation skills through fun activities that help build their confidence to speak in front of others. Activities include monologues and snippets where students create short scenes to present in front of class. There are also fun public speaking games. Students develop their speech skills to improve their diction, intonation, and projection through specifically designed sentences, poems, and tongue twisters.

Costumes and Props Design

Costumes and props help define a character. Students create new characters by making a different costume or prop each week and bring these characters to life through short scenes.
