DRAMA KIDS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Have questions? Explore our frequently asked questions (FAQs) below for quick access to the most common questions about our drama classes. If you have questions that are not answered here, please feel free to contact us.

Enrollment

Do we need to wait until the new session starts to enroll, or can we enroll today?

It depends on the class. Most of our in-school classes close enrollment once the class session begins, but our community classes are open for enrollment from May through January! In early February, these classes begin work on their spring plays, at which time we close enrollment for the class.

If we enroll after the session starts, do we still pay the full tuition or will tuition be prorated?

You will only pay for the classes that your child attends, but the first month is always a full month payment. Your billing cycle will be determined based on when you enroll within the month (i.e. If you need us to change the FAQs on your new site, please list them (in order). Make sure you list the current FAQ question and any pertinent details that need to change relative to that FAQ. Skip any FAQs that do not need to be changed. you may be billed on the 5th of the month or the 20th), and your final month of the year will be prorated.

Payment

If I need to update my credit card information, how can I do that?

The easiest and most secure way to update your credit card is through our parent portal. You can access our portal through our website. If you have trouble updating your card, you can always call our office.

Pricing

How much does it cost?

Tuition costs are specific to each location due to each class’ unique schedule and number of classes provided. Tuition prices are listed next to each class page.

Do I have to pay the tuition all at once, or do you have payment plans available?

At Drama Kids, we provide an effortless way to pay for your child’s tuition. Our monthly installment billing divides the yearly cost into equal payments throughout the school year, making it more convenient for you. A few of our schools do require a full session payment to be made upfront. If that is an issue, please reach out to us regarding possible payment plans for these classes.

Are there any additional costs besides tuition?

In our community classes, we charge a nominal fee per family annually to cover the costs of registration and administration and a nominal fee in the spring to cover Spring Performance costs.

Class Information

What do you do in each class?

Step into the Drama Kids world, where we kick off each class with a bang! First up, we have some super fun icebreakers that get our minds, bodies, and voices primed for action. Then, we dive into the speech segment, where our students sharpen their articulation, projection, and volume control. Our creative movement portion is where things start to get juicy. Here, students unleash their inner physical storytellers and master postures and body language. Next comes the main event, where students perform short, scripted, or improvised scenes that bring together their speech and movement skills with their unique creativity. Finally, we end each class on a high note with a high-energy concluding activity.

Do students put on a play at the end of the school year?

Yes, most of our classes culminate in a Spring Play performance! Typically, our classes begin rehearsing for the play in February. This is a short, theatrical performance where students are given the chance to demonstrate the skills they’ve learned in class.

Each student gets a character with lines to memorize and uses teamwork to rehearse in class and perform for parents at the end of the year. Please check with your child’s teacher for the specific date of their Spring Play. Note that only our classes that have at least 12 sessions in the spring perform a play. Our shorter-session classes will do skill-building work in class instead.

Can I watch a class?

At Drama Kids, we value the comfort of all students attending our classes. With this in mind, we kindly request that parents do not observe classes. Instead, we encourage families to join us later in the year when the children are more settled to attend our Family Presentation classes and Spring Showcases. This will allow them to fully immerse themselves in the experience.

Will my student have the same teacher all year?

Yes. In most cases, Drama Kids teachers instruct their classes during both the Fall and Spring semesters of the academic year unless there are highly unusual circumstances.
